Local artist chosen to participate in juried gallery show

Award winning natural science painter, Linda Thomas of Trumbull, is participating in Spectrum Gallery and Store’s upcoming exhibit Natural Science Illustrators, Painters and Other Surprises, now through July 12, at 61 Main St., in Centerbrook, Conn.

The seven-week juried show presents works in a variety of mediums including paintings in oil, acrylic, watercolor, gouache and pastel, colored pencil, photography and sculpture in wood and bronze.

On Friday, June 26, from 7-9 p.m., the gallery offers the public a special presentation about the World of Natural Science Art with Jan Prentice, a founding member of Connecticut Natural Science Illustrators. Included is a Feather Drawing Demo and Workshop with Dorie Petrochko, President of Connecticut Natural Science Illustrators. There is a $5 material fee. Members and donors are free.
