But the question still remains: Is there anything better than a beach party? Especially one with a DJ, burgers and hot dogs, games for the whole family, and a contest for the craziest flip flops!

Sound like fun?  Then head to Pavilion One at Short Beach in Stratford Aug. 15, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.Friends with Flip Flops is sponsored by The Center for Women and Families of Eastern Fairfield County, which opened a satellite office July 29th at Town of Stratford Community Services, Birdseye Municipal Complex, 468 Birdseye St.

“The Center has always offered crises services for victims of domestic abuse and sexual assault in Stratford,” says Deb Greenwood, CEO and President of the Center for Women and Families. “But now, instead of having to travel to Bridgeport, Stratford residents can drop by the satellite office to get the help and services they need. We currently have satellite offices in Fairfield, Monroe and Trumbull; Stratford is our fourth. This event is our way to introduce The Center, and the work we do, to the town.”

As for the beach party, anyone – not only Stratford residents – can attend. To park for free, click this link –www.cwfefc.org/docs/calendar/friendswithflipflops.pdf  – to download the event flyer. Show it to the guard at the booth and parking is free.
