Share your heritage and family traditions with our school community at this year’s International Festival, to be held on April 25. This event is a wonderful opportunity for our children to experience the different cultures that make up the Middlebrook community. We are looking for parents willing to share a traditional food item or to represent a particular country or culture through a craft or game. We hope to include a performance by a dance or musical group, so let us know if you have ties with any groups interested in displaying their talents. Contact either Grazi Carletto (email@example.com) or Margaret Chang (firstname.lastname@example.org). The Student Council is sponsoring the Pennies for Patients fund-raiser to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Collection boxes were sent home with the children last week. Collect coins and return the boxes to school by Friday, March 14. The Student Council is also sponsoring Crayons for Cancer fundraiser. Bring in your old, broken crayons to Mrs. Hatstat’s room and volunteer to help make new crayons that will be sold at the school store this Spring. All money raised will go directly to help provide toys in Children’s Hospitals as well as offset parent’s hospital parking and meal costs. Friday, March 14, Bingo Night at Middlebrook is coming. Doors open at 6 and games start at 7 p.m. Door prizes, parent volunteers and baked goods are needed. Contact Ruth Fontilla (email@example.com) for information.
