Jane Ryan parent volunteers are needed for Sensitivity Day on Tuesday, March 26. Sensitivity Day exposes fourth grade students to a variety of physical and learning disabilities with a hands-on sensitive program and helps increase awareness of those with disabilities. The day begins with discussions in the classroom focused on ways to be open and sensitive to all people. The kids then move to hands-on learning stations in the gym. The program concludes with a classroom discussion and worksheet on each student’s feelings on the program. Friends of Trumbull Public Schools will read books illustrating various differences in a positive way to classes K-5 throughout the day. The shift is for approximately 3.5 hours. It is preferred that someone be willing to stay for the entire time. If a volunteer wants to do a 1/2 shift, they should work directly with Yolanda Soto (email@example.com) since she needs to ensure coverage for the entire event. To volunteer and sign up, visit pta.ivolunteer.com/jrsensitivityday_2013. Family Bingo Night will be on Thursday, March 28 at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $1 per person, which includes door prize ticket. Each game packet (three bingo cards per game) is $6 per person. Due to state regulations, tickets may only be purchased at the door (no advance ticket sales). Doors will be open to the public. Door prizes and baked items are needed. Please drop them off in the main office by Tuesday, March 26. Fliers came home in the kid’s backpacks for families interested in pre-ordering their pizza. Any questions, contact Terri Girard. Public school notice — No school Friday, March 29, in observance of Good Friday. The snow day means students will now have a legal day on Monday, April 1.
