Trumbull High graduation is Monday night

Nearly 550 Trumbull seniors will toss their caps into the air Monday night, celebrating an end to their high school careers.
Trumbull High School’s commencement ceremony is June 15 at 5:45 p.m. in McDougall Stadium. In case of bad weather, graduation will be moved to the gymnasium.

This year, the national anthem, at the start of the ceremony will be performed by graduating senior Olivia Doolittle.
The graduates, as always, will be sent off with some words of advice from town and school leaders, as well as parting thoughts from a few classmates, including Class of 2015 President Frederick Tamarkin.

Valedictorian Justin Lynch and Saltuatorian Julia Provenzano will also be addressing their classmates.
Justin Lynch is the son of James and Jeanine Lynch of Trumbull.

He is a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta, the Mathematics National Honor Society. He was a top 10 finalist in the 2014 International Career Development Conference. Through his dedicated work, Lynch contributed to the success of Trumbull High School’s Peer Mediation program, according to the school. In his extracurricular endeavors, Lynch garnered all-FCIAC honors as a members of Trumbull High School’s Varsity Soccer team, and was voted captain for his senior year. He also qualified for the FCIAC Championships in the hurdles event as a member of the varsity outdoor track team.

He is the recipient of the Gettysburg College Book Award, and was recognized as an AP Scholar with Distinction.
Lynch will attend Vanderbilt University in the fall.

Julia Provenzano is the daughter of Marc and Ann Marie of Milford. Julia is a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta. She is the Trumbull Regional Agriscience Student Ambassador and the publicity officer for the Spanish Club. Provenzano volunteers as a peer tutor, and annually participates in a church mission trip to Maine where she helps build houses and works at a local soup kitchen. Julia is a member of Trumbull High School’s varsity tennis and cross country teams. She was voted captain of both teams by her coaches and teammates.

She is the recipient of the National Spanish Exam: Bronze Award. She received Outstanding Achievement Awards in agriscience, chemistry, english and pre-calculus for her academic performance in her junior and senior years. Julia is the recipient of Trumbull High School’s 2015 Outstanding Female Senior Award.

Provenzano will attend the Rochester Institute of Technology in the fall, majoring in chemical engineering.
