‘They Called Me Lizzy ... from Slavery to the White House’ to be performed

Actress Stephanie Jackson becomes Elizabeth “Lizzy” Keckly in this one-woman play on the life of a remarkable 19th century woman. A story about a woman who went from slavery to dressmaker, friend and confidante to Mary Todd Lincoln. Full of twists and turns, bravery and remarkable resilience. Presented by the East Haddam Stage Company. Written and directed by Kandie Carle.

It will be on Monday, Feb. 9, at 7 p.m. at Claven Auditorium at Lauralton Hall, 200 High St., in Milford.
