Tashua School gives toys a second chance

Tashua School and Second Chance Toys, an organization that rescues and recycles unwanted plastic toys for needy children, have teamed up for the fifth straight year to celebrate the “season of giving” by collecting and donating toys.

Plastic toys will be donated to children through Community Closet of Bridgeport. Donations also help the environment by keeping these non-biodegradable toys out of our landfills.

Collections will be held Saturday, Dec. 5, from 9 a.m. to noon in the Trumbull Town Hall parking lot, and Saturday, Dec. 12, from 9 a.m. to noon in the Tashua School parking lot.

Plastic toys that are donated must be clean, be missing no parts and have working batteries. Dolls, games, puzzles and books will also be collected.

Tashua School’s gogreen and Community Service committees, the Tashua School 5th Grade Class of 2016, Second Chance Toys and Community Closet are cooperating on the drive.
