
Booth Hill School
Join us for the Booth Hill Spooktacular on Friday, Oct. 21. There will be a Trunk or Treat along with games and prizes. Tickets are $10 per child in advance and $12 at the door. PTA members who pre-purchase their tickets will receive 10 free prize tickets. Volunteers are needed to help make this a great event.
Send in your Box Tops for Education to earn money for Booth Hill School. There is a collection box in the main office. The class with the most Box Tops by Friday, Oct. 28 will earn extra recess.
Sign up to participate in the 2016 Great Pumpkin Classic Kids Fun Run. Kids can run the 50 yard dash, the 1/2 mile, and the 1 mile run. This event will be held on Sunday, Oct. 23, at the Trumbull High School track. Sign up online at runsignup.com/Race/CT/Trumbull/GreatPumpkinClassic.
The Scholastic Book Fair will be held from Oct. 25 through Oct. 27.

Frenchtown School
Visitation to your child’s classroom will be on Thursday, Oct. 20 in the afternoon or Friday, Oct. 21 in the morning. Invitations were sent home by your child’s teacher(s) with information regarding the exact date and time.
Frenchtown’s 9th annual Democracy Day will be celebrated on Tuesday, Oct. 25. The program begins at 9 a.m., with a reception to welcome guests. Mrs. Francesconi and the candidates or their representatives will read to our third graders. There is an assembly for 4th and 5th grade students that parents and the general public can attend. Students and staff should wear red, white and blue.
Read Aloud Day is Wednesday, Oct. 26. Readers have been assigned by curriculum to read to our classes.
Friday, Oct. 28, is the PTA Halloween party. Flyers were sent home. Tickets must be ordered in advance and will not be sold at the door. There are two sessions; 5:30-7 p.m., and 7:30-9 p.m.
Classroom celebrations will be held on Monday, Oct. 31.
On Wednesday, Nov. 2, from 6-7:30 p.m.,, Frenchtown will be hosting a parent forum and discussion on Bullying and Other Forms of Mean Behavior in School Settings presented by JoAnne Freiberg, PhD with the State Department of Education. What it is? What can be done? Flyers will be sent home to Frenchtown families as well as to parents in the middle schools. RSVP’s are due by Oct. 28 to the individual school’s social worker.
