Booth Hill School

The Father’s Club is holding a meeting, Oct. 2, from 7:30-8:30 p.m. at the Dew Drop Inn, 25 North Ave. in Derby.

School will be closed on Monday, Oct. 13, for Columbus Day.

The BHS School Store will be open on Thursday, Oct. 23 and 24 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

The PTA will hold its Halloween Trunk or Treat from 5-7 p.m., on Friday, Oct. 24 at BHS.

The Fall Book Fair will be held from Tuesday, Oct. 27-Thursday, Oct. 30.

The PTA General Meeting will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 28 from 7-8:30 p.m., in the BHS Media Center.

Frenchtown School

Thursday, Oct. 2 Luau Lunch. Information has been sent home. Parents are invited to join us for lunch.

Frenchtown Night at Trumbull High versus Norwalk High football game. 6 p.m., Oct. 2. Sit in a section together. Kids get to go on field at halftime for a relay race with mascot. Flyers were sent home.

Tuesday, Oct. 7 is Spirit Day. Please wear blue and white or spirit wear.

Thursday, Oct. 9 are school photos. Remember to bring your money in that morning.

After School Enrichment flyers were sent home last week with your child. There are lots of new, exciting classes this fall in addition to returning favorites. Enrollment deadline is Monday, Oct. 6. No enrollments will be accepted after Oct. 6.

Frenchtown will once again be participating in the Stop and Shop A+ Program. Registration for the 2014-15 school year has begun. Our school ID is 06238 You need to register your Stop and Shop card at

The last several years we have earned more than $5,000 which was used to buy additional technology.

Madison Middle School

Auditions for Broadway Babies will be held Thursday, Oct. 2 after school.

KARE Talent Show: Thursday, Oct. 9 at 7 p.m., in the auditorium. All acts must attend mandatory rehearsals after school on Wed. Oct. 8 and Thurs. Oct. 9 from 2:30-3:20 p.m. Admission is $4. KARE uses proceeds to fund various community service projects throughout the year.

Attention students ages 14 and up: Impact Teen Drivers has opened up the Create Real Impact Contest to ask young people to show how they would talk about the very real problem of reckless and distracted driving. Students can enter to win cash and prizes for themselves and the school by showcasing original art, music, video and creative writing addressing this issue. Contest information can be found on the counter in the Counseling Office. Deadline is Friday, Oct. 10.

8th grade students: Career Night on Thursday, Oct. 16. Students can submit designs for the cover of the information packet given out that evening to all students and presenters. There is a small prize for the winning cover. See Mrs. Hellthaler or Mr. Barbato in the guidance office for details.
