Booth Hill School
This year, Booth Hill School will be marching in the Memorial Day Parade and we hope you’ll join us. A permission form came home with your child this week. If your child is interested in representing our school, be sure to return the permission form by Friday, May 8.

Consider helping out at the Mother’s Day plant sale Thursday, May 7, and Friday, May 8. We still need help.

Rita’s Ice Celebrity Scoop will be held from 6-9 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, at Rita’s Ice, 1055 Huntington Turnpike in Bridgeport. Come and be served by your favorite teacher or staff member. A portion of proceeds from all sales and tips will be donated to the BHS Father’s Club.

Calling all golfers. The 12th annual School’s Out golf tournament benefiting the Trumbull Elementary Schools will be held Monday May 11, at Tashua Knolls Golf Club. The event is limited to 144 golfers — 36 foursomes. Last year was a sellout so please respond early.

Registration begins at 9:30 a.m., with shotgun tee-off at 11. Rain date is Tuesday May 19.

The cost for this event is $180. This price includes participation gift, 18 holes of golf, riding cart, refreshments on the course, lunch and prime rib dinner at Marisa’s with full open bar. There will also be golf awards for best team scores, 4 closest to the pins, and longest and straightest drives.

BHS is running a marathon. Your kids are working hard at school to run and walk 25 miles before May 31. The final mile event will be held at Trumbull High School on May 31st and Rod Dixon, Olympian and founder of Kid’s Marathon will be there.

Participation in the final mile event will cost $5 per child, and each will receive a medal and a t-shirt. Help us make this event a huge success for BHS and all Trumbull elementary schools.

The spring chorus concert will be held on Thursday, May 14, at 7 p.m.

Jumpr Rope for Heart will be held at Trumbull High School on Tuesday, May 19, from 6-8 p.m.
Frenchtown School
PTA plant aale is Thursday, May 7. Classes have been assigned to time slots for shopping. Plant aale continues on Friday, May 8, until all plants are gone.

Grade 5 hygiene presentations will be on Friday, May 8, at 2 p.m.

Lot the Storyteller will present to each 5th grade class on Tuesday, May 12.

PTA meeting will be held on Thursday, May 14 at 6:30 p.m. David Weitzman, Frenchtown’s social worker, will make a presentation.
Jane Ryan School
The Jane Ryan PTA Mother’s Day plant sale is on Friday, May 8, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Pre-orders will be available for pick up in the gym on Thursday, May 7, between 3-5 p.m. Day of sale price is $15 each. Plants for purchase include geraniums, impatiens (new guinea, double and mixed combo), petunias, marigolds and begonias.

The Bridge to Bridgeport event to package the collected school supplies will be held on Friday, May 8, in the JR Cafeteria from 6-8 p.m. Please contact Anne Marie Martini with any questions. The next school store will be on Thursday, May 21 from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

Some upcoming dates — Kindercolors will be held on May 15, the spring music concert will be on Thursday, May 27, at Madison Middle School at 7 p.m., and fourth grade flag program will be on June 5. Veteran’s Day Concert DVDs are still available for purchase for $3. Send to Mrs. Fryz with your child’s name and teacher’s name.
Tashua School
Tashua Elementary School Spring Fair will be held on Saturday, May 16, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., and is open to the public. Featuring food by Vazzy’s, karate instruction, zumba, arts and crafts, carnival games, prizes, bounce house, face painting, raffles, fish toss, cake walk, and more.

Tashua Elementary School is located at 401 Stonehouse Road.
