Jane Ryan School

The Kids Offering Our Love (KOOL) fall clothing drive is now through Friday, Oct. 24. Boxes are set up in Jane Ryan entrances to collect new and gently fall and winter used clothes. All clothes will be donated to Trumbull Headstart, housed at Trumbull Early Childhood Education Center (located at Middlebrook Elementary School). Volunteers are needed to deliver and sort clothes. For delivering clothes, we need some parents and kids to load and unload cars from Jane Ryan to Middlebrook on Oct. 24 after school. On Oct. 27, volunteers are needed to help sort and fold at Headstart at 9 a.m. Sign up to volunteer at or contact Anne Marie Martini with questions.

The Student Council Cookie Dough fundraiser is running now through Oct. 28. No door-to-door sales. Make checks payable to Jane Ryan Elementary School. No cash. Forms went home in the kids’ backpacks on Oct. 10. Return envelopes with payment and order form by Tuesday, Oct. 28. Orders will be delivered at a date to be announced prior to Thanksgiving.

The Father’s Club is sponsoring Halloween Movie Night on Friday, Oct. 24 in the cafeteria at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. Admission is free and refreshments are available. The movie will be Hotel Transylvania.

Jane Ryan music teacher Olya Fryz is looking for copies of pictures of Jane Ryan family veterans. A special wall of photos honoring these veterans and current soldiers will be outside the school’s music room. Share your history by sending in a photo of the veteran or soldier in your family in uniform (preferred, but not required). Picture copies can be sent in an envelope to Mrs. Fryz marked “Picture of Veteran” with veteran name, arms forces division, and Jane Ryan staff or student connection. A flier with information was sent home in your child’s backpack.

Save the Date. The Veteran’s Day concert will be on Tuesday, Nov. 11, at 2 p.m.

Madison Middle School

Friday, Oct. 24: Fall Dance 7-9 p.m. Purchase dance tickets in homeroom $5/each. Don’t forget to bring money for refreshments. Glow products will also be on sale at the dance. All proceeds from glow products will be donated to Breast Cancer Research.

Bullard Havens, representing the CT Technical High Schools, will be here to present to interested 8th grade students on Monday, Oct. 27. Interested students should sign-up in the guidance office.

Aqua Culture, a regional high school focused on marine sciences, will present to interested 8th grade students on Thursday, Oct. 30. Interested students should sign-up in the counseling office.
