CT nonprofit Volunteer Square offers youth internship program

Twelve students from Fairfield County high schools will be invited to join Volunteer Square’s Inaugural Internship Program this fall. In an effort to expand opportunities for high school students and build stronger volunteer communities in Fairfield County, the program will provide interns training and experience with digital marketing, social media, website maintenance and community relations. This select group will become volunteer ambassadors in their schools, area towns and most importantly, their peer groups. Interns will represent the organization throughout Fairfield County at local nonprofit events as well as on their website, VolunteerSquare.com, and social media channels.

“The energy and enthusiasm high school students bring to a project, combined with their drive to work hard and give back, are essential components to building stronger volunteer communities. We hope this program provides both an educational and hands-on experience, while also increasing our presence in Fairfield County,” said Volunteer Square Executive Director Julianne Alberty.

Volunteer Square’s mission is to create a connection between our thriving volunteer base and the rising needs of nonprofit organizations to collectively make a greater impact on Connecticut communities. We are committed to expanding our presence in Fairfield County and to developing ways to encourage more young people to be involved in their own community.
