To celebrate Take Your Child to the Library Day (TYCLD), Trumbull Library, 33 Quality St., is presenting a winter beach party in the children\u2019s department on Saturday, Feb. 6. The library staff will transform the children\u2019s department with sharks, palm trees and plenty of fun. At the main branch, some of the activities scheduled 10 a.m-1 p.m., include a performance by Music Mandy at 11 a.m., and continuous face painting starting at 11. At the Fairchild-Nichols Memorial Branch Library, 1718 Huntington Tpke., included drop-in activities from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., include bingo, crafts, scavenger hunts, and a photo booth. \u00a0A Virtual Reality Creators\u2019 Corner will be presented from 1-2 p.m. Using smart phone apps and assembled viewers, participants can explore virtual reality. Sign up is required for this activity and participants are asked to bring a smart phone. \u00a0The library will provide the viewers. Activities at both libraries are free and open to Trumbull residents. \u201cWe decided the children shouldn\u2019t be the only ones to have a \u2018beach day\u2019 \u00a0explained Program Coordinator Jackie Carlino. \u00a0We added a fun component for adults on Tuesday, Feb. 23, at 10 a.m., by offering a screening of the movie Beach Blanket Bingo starring Frankie Avalon and Annette Funicello.\u201d This movie is unrated and has a running time of 98 minutes, is free and open to the public.
