Walk-a-thon to benefit CT Children’s Medical Center
American Legion Department of Connecticut’s Third District invites the public to participate in a walk-a-thon to benefit the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center on Saturday, April 9, at 10 a.m., at Veterans Memorial Park on the River Walk, 38 Canal Street East, Shelton.
The event will include a 1 to 3 mile walk. Bottled water and snacks will be provided for participants. T-shirts will be awarded to walkers with $25 or more in sponsor donations.
Along with the general public, alumni of American Legion programs are encouraged to join in the walk. Legion program alumni are men and women, who have benefited from programs such as Boys State, Girls State, Legion Baseball, and youth groups sponsored by the Legion. All pledges and donations to the Kids Walk will benefit the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. The walk also will be an opportunity for Legion Program Alumni to catch up with old friends. All are welcome to attend.
