Tutu Trot provides support to sick Jane Ryan students
A pair of Jane Ryan Elementary School kindergartners are receiving community-wide support as they fight cancer together.
Caroline and Mia, friends and classmates at Jane Ryan, will see Trumbull rally behind them and “bring them love, joy and light into the daily struggles of fighting cancer” at a three-person relay race at Trumbull High School Sunday, June 5.
The event, which aims to provide monetary support for both families as they each continue their treatment and daily lives, is being called the Tutu Trot and requires participants to bring their own tutu while they run the 1.7-mile course.
The first 300 teams to register are guaranteed an official rainbow race tutu. Pre-registration ends Sunday, May 22 at 11:59 p.m.
The high school is located at 72 Strobel Road and the race will take place on the fields behind the school. The race begins at 4:30 p.m. and day of registration and pre-registration packet pickup begins at 3 p.m.
The first two legs of the race are .5 miles and the third is slightly longer at .7 miles.
