Trumbull's Allegra De Vita to perform on Metropolitan Opera stage this Sunday

On Sunday, March 15, Allegra De Vita of Trumbull advanced to the Metropolitan Opera National Council Grand Finals which will take place this weekend, March 22.

De Vita and eight other finalists will perform arias on the Met state for the final phase of the competition.

The auditions will be performed with the full Metropolitan Opera Orchestra conducted by Fablo Luisi with Angela Meade as host and guest artist. The finalists will have had a week of preparation with Met musical and dramatic coaches to prepare for the concert. According to her family, De Vita has been at the Met all week as she prepares for the grand finals.

The audience for the Grand Finals Auditions will include artistic directors of leading opera companies, artist managers, established opera stars, important teachers and coaches, music critics, and many other industry professionals with the potential to play an influential role in the career of a young singer. The Met Auditions, currently in their 62nd year, are described as a major stepping stone to a career as an opera singer.
