The following programs are listed at the Trumbull Senior Center.
The Center at 23 Priscilla Place is open Thursday evenings until 7 p.m. For more information and to RSVP, call 203-452-5199, unless otherwise noted.
The Center provides transportation for medical, social, and nutritional needs to Trumbull residents who are age 60 and over and/or age 55-59 and disabled, five days a week. Rides are for those traveling to and from the senior center, medical appointments, legal appointments and nutrition programs.
The Senior Center provides medical transportation within the following towns/cities: Trumbull, Bridgeport, Stratford, Monroe, and Shelton. Contact Ashley Grace at 203-452-5137 to schedule a ride.
Caregivers: Finding and Expanding Your Village — Oasis Senior Advisors and Valerio Financial Group host a presentation about exploring the various resources, options, practices, and types of professionals to help you provide the best care for aging parents Wednesday, May 29, 10:30 a.m. Lunch will be served. AARP Safe Drivers Course — Friday, May 31, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.; $15 members and $20 nonmembers. Checks only; pay the instructor the day of the class. RSVP.
Caregiver Support Group — Monday, June 3 and 17, 2 p.m. Caregivers can share their feelings in a safe environment among others who are going through the same experiences. Learn about resources, caregiving strategies and other tools to provide support. To RSVP, call Ashley at 203-452-5135.
Wellness Talk with Michiko — Michiko, a Rite Aid Wellness Ambassador talks about memory and mental health care Friday, June 7, 11 a.m. RSVP.
CPR and First Aid Training — Members, volunteers, and staff, join Trumbull EMS to learn the basics of CPR and First Aid Monday, June 10, at 10:30 a.m. and Wednesday, June 12, at 2 p.m. This is not a certification course. To sign up for one session, call 203-452-5199.

Veterans Benefits Screening — Ramon Agusto, from CT Department of Veterans Affairs screens veterans and their surviving spouses for all veterans’ benefits Tuesday, June 11, at 12:30 p.m. Bring discharge papers. Membership not required. RSVP.
AARP Caregiver Road Show — Attendees will learn specific tools for navigating and connecting with available services, gain an understanding of care options and costs, and stay informed on the legislative issues impacting seniors and family caregivers Wednesday, June 12, 10:30 a.m. RSVP.
Meditation for Caregivers — Deborah Swann, yoga therapist offers simple self-care techniques to help maintain balance, restore energy and manage emotions Thursday, June 13, 4:30 p.m. Practices will include breathing, meditation and yoga poses.
History Talks — Historian Arthur N. Gottlieb, LCSW, CSA hosts a series of history presentations on various topics including Tuesday, June 18 (Rosie the Riveter) and June 25 (The Merritt Parkway), 2 p.m. Call for more information and RSVP.
