Trumbull Historical Society hosts session on bees, and a tea party

Below are the upcoming events at the Trumbull Historical Society, 1856 Huntington Tpke., Trumbull:

The ‘Bee’ Hive

Introducing The “Bee” Hive on Wednesday, May 28, at 6:30 p.m.

Did you know that a “bee” can mean “a gathering of people for a specific purpose?”

Quilting bees, husking bees, spinning bees and others were common in colonial New England, often as a social as well as productive gathering. We will be carrying on the tradition at the Trumbull Historical Society.

Every last Wednesday of the month, we will gather together at the “hive” (THS) to work on existing projects, share ideas and friendship.

No need to register — just bring yourself, some handwork, and a friend.

Others with experience quilting, knitting, crocheting, etc. will be in the group, so we just may have answers to some of your questions (or know how to get them.).

Cost: $5 (includes tea+); For more information or questions, call 203-377-6620 or e-mail
