The holiday season has come and gone leaving the cupboards of the Trumbull Food Pantry barren.

In a press release posted on the town website last week, the pantry called for donations for the following items: pancake mix, syrup, oatmeal, applesauce, powdered milk and/or boxed milk

juice/juice boxes, napkins, dish soap, and laundry detergent.

In addition, condiments are needed including: ketchup, mustard, mayo, olives, salad dressing, oil and vinegar. The pantry asks for residents to please avoid donating glass bottles if possible.

The Trumbull Food Pantry is located at The Center at Priscilla Place, 23 Priscilla Place, off of Huntington Turnpike near the Bunny Fountain and the Fairchild-Nichols Library.

Donations can be dropped off during The Center at Priscilla Place building hours, which are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

A donation box is also located on the porch of Jon and Angela Bulkley’s home located at 2373 Huntington Turnpike.

“We leave a donation box on our porch for the food pantry so people can donate outside of the pantry's hours,” Bulkley said. “I drive by the pantry 4 times a day so drop off is easy for me.”

If residents are dropping off a large donation, please call 203-452-5198 to notify the Social Services staff.
