Spring has arrived and Stern Village, the Trumbull Housing Authority, is seeking Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and community service organizations to help with the spring beautification of Stern Village and Stern Center/Congregate.

Stern Village would like to create raised gardens for the elderly, frail and handicapped residents, as well as a Zen garden that would be therapeutic and soothing to residents. Stern Village could also use a Bocce Ball court for their residents to enjoy.

This is an opportunity to help the vibrant community consisting of seniors and disabled residents.

“Our residents take the utmost pride in their surroundings and many of them would love to have vegetable and flower gardens, but are unable to bend down to take care of them,” Executive Director Harriet Polansky said. Any help would be greatly appreciated.”

All donations of mulch, fertilizer, gravel, plants and other garden supplies would be greatly appreciated!

To help, contact Polansky via email harriet@sternvillage.com or by calling 203-261-5740.
