The St. Joseph High Class of 2013 walked off of Dalling Field last Saturday as graduates.

The school’s 48th commencement ceremony was the culmination of a week of celebration for the Class of 2013 — the seniors had Class Day and the Baccalaureate Liturgy last Thursday.

Speakers at the school’s 48th commencement included Trumbull First Selectman Timothy Herbst, Salutatorian Kiersten Lynch and Valedictorian Matthew Immerso.

Herbst charged the Class of 2013 to each step up and lead, and to value their name and reputation as they go out in the world. Dr. William Fitzgerald, president of St. Joseph High School called the graduating Class of 2013, a “work in progress.”

“Do better,” Fitzgerald said. “You will be missed here. But you are needed out there.”

As a class, students earned over $16.6 million dollars in scholarships and renewable grants, and will attend some of the most selective colleges and universities across the nation, according to the school.
