Seven-year-old Sophia Carletto, a second grade student at Middlebrook Elementary School, had a special birthday request for her friends and family this year. She chose, instead of receiving birthday presents, to have donations made to the Trumbull Animal Group (TAG), to benefit the Trumbull Animal Shelter. She made this her birthday wish because “animals are her favorite living things.” Fourteen families donated, which included online orders, as TAG  has a “Wish List” on Amazon.com. Sophia’s donations also included a check. Last year, Sophia received toys for the children at Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital. She wants to be a veterinarian and a marine biologist when she grows up. Sophia is pictured with TAG President Gail Marshall, Trumbull Animal Control Officer Lynn Dellabianca and Jeter, who is at the shelter waiting to be adopted.
