Seeking sponsors for Bink-A-Thon to help critically and terminally ill children

Sponsors are needed for Back to School Bink-A-Thon Binky Patrol of Southern CT- Monroe/Trumbull to help continue the mission of providing binky’s, blankets for critically and terminally ill children throughout this area and are seeking any monetary donations, along with yarn, flannel, fleece, washable cotton as well as gift cards for Jo-Ann’s or Michael’s. It will be held on Saturday, Sept. 12 from 12:30-3:30 p.m., at Edith Wheeler Memorial Library, William J. Ehlers meeting room (lower level), 733 Fan Hill Road, Monroe Turnpike.

Volunteers will be organizing their 4th Monroe/Trumbull Bink-A-Thon with stations for organizing fabric, cutting/tying fleece, crocheting and knitting blankets and squares. Bring your own supplies and scissors if you are able to join them. Also, an opportunity for scouting groups to earn badges and for students needing service hours. Finished Binky’s can be dropped off also.

Binky’s are given to NICU units at St. Vincent’s, Bridgeport, Danbury, Griffin and Yale New Haven hospitals, along with other local agencies and shelters. As well as their new partnership with Al’s Angel’s. Binky’s are on hand for any child that needs a hug.
