Operation Hope holds 15th annual Evening of Hope fund-raiser
Operation Hope’s 15th annual Evening of Hope fund-raiser will be held on Thursday, May 19, at 6:30 p.m., at the Patterson Club in Fairfield. During the evening Community Hero Award honorees will be recognized and there will be cocktails, dinner, music, silent and live auctions. The event, Operation Hope’s most significant fund-raiser, will help raise funds to provide neighbors in need with food, shelter and counseling.
Community Hero Awards will be presented to the following community members who have helped Operation Hope advance its mission through their dedication and support:
Named after Rev. David Spollett (First Church Congregational) and Rabbi Label Waldman (Congregation Beth El) for their extraordinary vision and courage that led to the birth of Operation Hope. This will be awarded in loving memory of Ellen S. Redgate, long-time Operation Hope volunteer and the first Food Pantry manager.
Stewart B. and Lucie C. McKinney Award
Named after former Connecticut Congressman and his wife who pushed forward federal legislation that created public policy, critical funding and a voice for those who struggle with homelessness, Harry’s Wine and Liquors co-owners William Miller, Patrick Monteleone and Scott Pollack will be honored for their continued commitment to supporting the community.
Jacky Durrell Award
Named after the Town of Fairfield's former First Selectman and State Legislator, who helped launch Operation Hope’s shelter and pantry and championed its work to make the community a better place for all. Alexandra Currie, founder of a little square and the Pink Pom-Pom Project, will be recognized for her efforts to help our neighbors in need.
Our generous sponsors to date include Angel Commercial, Beltone, Benemark, Black Rock Congregational Church, IPS, People's United Bank and Santa Energy. Tickets and sponsorship opportunities are available and open to the public.
