Regina Misercola and Eric Sorge have been named recipients from Madison Middle School of the Connecticut Association of Schools (CAS) 2015 Scholar Leader Award.

The CAS Scholar Leader award represents a huge accomplishment. It is presented annually to one eighth grade female and one male student in each middle school in the state who have distinguished themselves in

scholarship and leadership in their schools and the community.

Regina and Eric were recognized last month at an awards banquet at the Aqua Turf Club in Southington, and this week as part of the school’s end-of-year ceremonies. They were selected by their teachers for consistently demonstrating a record (according to CAS criteria), of academic achievement and service that have been exemplary; whose personal standards and accomplishments are a model for others; and who possess high levels of integrity, self discipline, honesty and courage.

Regina and Eric maintained their outstanding academic performance while participating in a wide array of community service activities, academic clubs and sports. In addition, both also consistently demonstrated leadership through their roles in student government and the National Junior Honor Society.
