Twenty four faculty and staff members at Jane Ryan Elementary School lined up to do the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge on Friday, Sept. 5, raising $1,200 for the ALS Association. Jane Ryan teachers, Pam DeCesare and Marianne Ferrari, are responsible for bringing the challenge to Jane Ryan.

However, the deeper connection to this challenge is the two Jane Ryan students, Alyssa and Talia Lalli, whose aunt, Jeanette Senerchia, with her cousin, Chris Kennedy, created the original ALS Ice Bucket Challenge that has gone viral and helped raise millions for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Senerchia’s husband, Anthony, has been suffering from ALS for 11 years. (see story here)

Jane Ryan staff accepted the challenge from Booth Hill School.
