How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying comes to THS next weekend
The Trumbull High School Thespians will stage their production of the Pulitzer Prize-winning musical How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, written by Frank Loesser, Abe Burrows, Jack Weinstock, and Willie Gilbert, Thursday, March 17 through Sunday, March 20.
This musical follows the path of one man, J. Pierrepont Finch from window washer with a self-help book to top executive at World Wide Wickets.
Finch will be played by senior Michael Lepore, a two-time Connecticut High School Music Theater Award Winner for Outstanding Actor in a Supporting Role.
Two secretaries at the company, Rosemary (Ava Gallo, ‘16) and Smitty (Katherine Griffin, ‘16), amuse the audience and tug at its heartstrings with trials and tribulations in the office, with everything from a company romance to an empty coffee pot at break time.
How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying also features Zac Gottschall, winner of the CHSMTA Outstanding Actor in a Leading Role, as the boss, J.B. Biggley.
The production is directed by THS teacher Jessica Spillane, a six-time nominee for Outstanding Direction from the CHSMTA, and 2015 winner of the Educational Theatre Association’s “Inspirational Educator” Award. Broadway veteran Jerold Goldstein is music directing, while award-winning choreography team Frank and Abby Root reprise their roles as choreographers.
