The annual Kidologie Goes Back to School event sponsored by Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital will be Sunday, Aug. 17, at Westfield Trumbull Mall, 5065 Main Street. The free event will be held on the first day of Connecticut’s tax free shopping week and will include live entertainment and demonstrations throughout the day as well as 30 local exhibitors offering information about their family-friendly businesses.

The celebration will be at the center concourse between Macy’s and Target

There will be interactive activities throughout the event as well as giveaways including an all-inclusive family vacation to Woodloch Pines Resort and free Kidologie signature goody bags filled with items for kids and families. Highlights of the bags include $25 gift cards to Lord & Taylor, $100 coupons to Woodloch Pines Resort, free passes The Discovery  Museum and Planetarium, $10 coupon to Insports Trumbull, samples of GoGo Squeez all natural healthy snacks on the go and much more while supplies last.

Free giveaways

In addition to the family vacation — the winner will be announced at 3 p.m. — Kidologie will also be offering free giveaways throughout the day for attendees to enter to win. There will be tickets to Stepping Stones Children’s Museum, a Youth Instruction Class at Insports of Trumbull, a gift basket from Wells Fargo, copies of The Sugar Plum Tree signed by author Katherine James, a month’s supply of GoGo Squeez, a family four-pack of tickets to see the Nutcracker at the Klein Memorial Auditorium, 5 week course at The Dance Workshop and many others. Winners do not have to be present to  win.

Kidologie will also feature live entertainment by Jester Jim Comedy Juggling, a visit from the “Snow Queen” by Fairytale Memories Character Entertainment, henna body art, face painting, Nutcracker excerpts presented by New England Ballet, demonstrations from Fairfield’s Steve DeMasco’s Shaolin Studios, The Dance Workshop, Fred Astaire of Trumbull and more.
