You can take a few simple steps to protect yourself and the people around you from the flu: Wash your hands often with soap and water, cover your nose and mouth when you sneeze or cough, stay home if you feel sick, and get your flu shot from the Trumbull Health Department, now located at 335 White Plains Road.

Everyone older than 6 months old is recommended to get a flu shot every year.

The Trumbull Health Department will be offering Quadrivalent Flu shots by appointment only on Mondays, from 3-5 p.m., and Tuesdays, from 9:30-11:30 a.m., starting Monday, Oct. 5.

Flu shots are covered by Medicare Part B, Anthem, ConnectiCare, Aetna, Cigna. Bring your insurance cards and a valid driver license/state id with you. Standard seasonal flu shots cost $30 per person.
