Fairfield County Hunt Club holds annual June Benefit Horse Show
The Bridgeport Hospital Foundation, Inc. has been selected for the second consecutive year as a charitable beneficiary of the Fairfield County Hunt Club’s annual June Benefit Horse Show event which takes place June 21-25, at 174 Long Lots Road in Westport.
The public is invited to attend the Terex Welcome Jumper Stake and Reception Thursday June 23, at 3:30 p.m. The show has been deemed one of the country’s few designated “Heritage Competitions” by the United States Equestrian Federation, the governing body of the equestrian sport. The Horse Show also has been voted #1 by members of the United States Hunter Jumper Association.
Attendees will help support the Bridgeport Hospital Foundation’s vital campaign to raise $7 million dollars to benefit the modernization of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital at Bridgeport Hospital. The renovation will provide a supportive environment to foster family centered care for their most fragile patients.
“Bridgeport Hospital is privileged to be a beneficiary of this prestigious event,” said Stephen M. Jakab, president of the Bridgeport Hospital Foundation. “The proceeds we receive will help modernize and brighten the NICU by making it more comfortable for infants and their families.”
The Terex Welcome Stake reception offers food, drinks and a silent auction. The Terex Welcome Stake will run simultaneously with the Mini-Prix Jumper Class and numerous retail vendors will be onsite offering an opportunity for guests to shop. Prize money awarded to the competition winner(s) will total no less than $10,000.
