Colbert Veterinary Rescue, of Colbert, Georgia, is transporting 60 dogs to Connecticut for an adoption event at Petco in Stratford, 955 Ferry Blvd., on Friday through Sunday, April 11-13.

Applications for adoption may be found at colbertvetrescue.org.

The adoption fee is $350 which includes all shots, spay or neuter, microchip, vetting and housing that were necessary to furnish the adopter with their new four legged companion.

These days, more four legged friends are being adopted from shelters than ever before, according to Colbert Veterinary, and while that statistic only adds up to about 20% of all of America’s dogs and cats, people are deciding to make the difference and opt to adopt.

The people of Colbert Veterinary Rescue are working to raise that statistic. With about six million pets entering shelters every year, they are doing whatever they can to take those pets and find them safe, happy and healthy forever homes.
