The Cardinal Shehan Center, a youth center dedicated to enriching the lives of youth through learning, announced the appointment of Deb Clancy of First Niagara Bank; Richard C. Burtula of Berchem, Moses & Devlin, P.C.; Jonathan D’Elia of People’s United Insurance; Joseph Haley of Compuware; Eric Hendlin of Dworken, Hillman, LaMorte & Sterczala, P.C.; Tom Reilly; and Jeff Roberts of Independent Jewelers Organization to its board of directors.
“Our 7 new board members bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the Cardinal Shehan Center and they each will play a key role in helping the Cardinal Shehan Center continue to fulfill its mission,” said Terry O’Connor, executive director, Cardinal Shehan Center. “Their experience and proven track records in their fields will be a tremendous asset to the Cardinal Shehan Center.
Each new board member will sit on the Cardinal Shehan Center board of directors for six years. The Board of Directors of the Cardinal Shehan Center acts as a governing body to ensure the Shehan Center carries out its mission. The responsibilities of the Board Members range from involvement with fundraising efforts to attending board and committee meetings to educating the public about the Cardinal Shehan Center.
The Cardinal Shehan Center thanked its outgoing Board Members, Dave Norton, Heather Smith-Jaser, Michael Kolakowski and Jonathan Berchem. “I am so grateful for the time Dave Norton, Heather Smith-Jaser Michael Kolakowski and Jonathan Berchem dedicated to their positions,” said Mr. O’Connor. “After a combined 24 years of service to the Cardinal Shehan Center, we are a stronger organization today due to their leadership and support.”
