‘Car Wash and Cookies’ benefits the Special Olympics

The Nichols Improvement Association (NIA) Nichols Teens Give Back (NTGB) will host the second annual  “Car Wash and Cookies” on Sunday, June 1, 1-4 p.m. at the Starkweather House, 1773 Huntington Turnpike. All proceeds benefit Special Olympics.

The NTGB is comprised of teens from the Nichols section of Trumbull. The group's mission is to volunteer, support and give back to the community.

Special Olympics was chosen after two of the NTGB members raised money to participate in The Penguin Plunge, when they jumped into the Long Island Sound in 2013.

Special Olympic athletes will be joining the NTGB at the “Car Wash and Cookies.”

The car wash will be $5 per car and cookies, cakes and other bake sale items will also be available for sale. For more information on the car wash, visit www.niatrumbull.org/membership.
