Charles Ray will be the guest artist at the CT Classic Arts next meeting, which will be held at the Trumbull Library Thursday, March .

The retired director and member of the Silvermine School of the Arts in New Cannan will demonstrate his painting techniques in oil.

Refreshments will be served at 1 p.m. followed by a short business meeting with the program beginning at 1:30 p.m.

In addition to his work as a director, Ray also taught painting and drawing at Silvermine.

His current work includes several themes: cloudscapes, vanishing American still life, sunflowers, trees shorelines and portraits. He has had numerous one-person shows and has been in group and museum shows throughout Connecticut, New York and neighboring states as well as having commissioned work for corporations and private requests.

CT Classic Arts, which meets on the third Thursday of the month, is a group of people interested in watching professional artists demonstrate their work.

New members are always welcome, no experience needed. Meetings are open to the public with a fee of $5 for non-members.
