Art exhibit honors the work of fashion designer Angie Paul

Common Threads: A Tribute to Angie Paul will be held on Thursday, May 26, from 5:30-7:30 p.m., at The Kennedy Center’s Maggie Daly Arts Coop (MDAC), located at the corner of Broad and John Streets in Bridgeport.

The exhibit is a collaboration of fashion and art. Event includes wine and appetizers. This free exhibit honors the work of fashion designer, Angie Paul.  Also on view will be a Common Threads Exhibition by MDAC artists.

This exhibit has been underwritten by Gloria and Bill Paul in memory of Angelina Rea Paul.  Angie was a gifted artist and fashion designer who studied at New York’s Traphagen School of Fashion. She was the daughter of Italian immigrants and a lifelong resident of Bridgeport. She used her extraordinary talent to design and produce an array of fashions, including gowns, dresses, christening outfits, costumers and men’s clothing for dignitaries, friends, family and charitable events.  She was a one-person fashion house, designer, tailor, pattern maker and seamstress.

The Paul Family felt it was most appropriate to support The Kennedy Center’s Art Program in Angie’s memory, particularly because she also loved to paint and teach others the joy of painting. Plus, she always had an enormous capacity to help those in need.

RSVP by May 24 by calling 203-690-1609 or email scampbell@kennedyctr.org.
