George’s Hill: A Social Engagement Group for people diagnosed with early dementia and their caregivers. For many years George Brezina drove up a hill, on top of which was the building he cared for as an officer of Unity Hill United Church of Christ in Trumbull. Since his passing from Alzheimer’s in 2013, his family and fellow church members have sought to honor his memory by caring for those struggling with early dementia related illnesses in the Greater Bridgeport area. They will open their doors on the top of the hill and offer lunch and some fun to people who have been diagnosed with an illness affecting memory and cognition.

The group will meet the second Thursday of the month from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m., beginning Thursday, Oct. 9 at Unity Hill United Church of Christ, 364 White Plains Road. A light lunch will be served from noon-12:30. They will also be meeting on Thursday, Nov. 13 and Dec. 11.

Anyone with a wheelchair, or problems with mobility, may enter through the kitchen door in back as there are no steps to negotiate.
