Make-A-Wish\u00a0Connecticut is proud to announce that it has appointed Michelle D. Wilson to its board of directors. The mission of Make-A-Wish is to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. Wilson is the chief revenue and marketing officer for WWE, which is based in Stamford. She oversees all of the company\u2019s revenue lines, including consumer products, sponsorship sales, WWE Network and new business development. In addition to those responsibilities, Wilson also oversees marketing, corporate communications, creative services, special events, research and community relations. Wilson has also helped spearhead the company\u2019s efforts to launch WWE Network, a direct-to-consumer subscription service. She began her career as a chemical engineer at Johnson & Johnson, but quickly recognized her interest in marketing and general management. After completing her MBA at Harvard Business School, she served as brand manager at Nabisco for 5 years. It was then that she received the call for her \u201cdream job\u201d at the National Basketball Association (NBA). Since then, she has spent her career in sports and entertainment with positions at the NBA, XFL, the United States Tennis Association\/US Open and now WWE. Wilson\u2019s presence on the board will help to continue to grow and develop the Connecticut chapter, expanding their reach throughout the state to fulfill the wishes of eligible children. \u201cFor the past 7 years at WWE, I\u2019ve been involved with Make-A-Wish at the national level, supporting their mission and wish granting around the country, including our most recent celebration this summer of WWE Superstar John Cena\u2019s record 500th\u00a0wish,\u201d Wilson said. \u201cAfter seeing the impact that Make-A-Wish has not only on the deserving children but also on their families, I wanted to get involved personally and on a local level. \u201cI\u2019m honored to have been selected to join the Make-A-Wish Connecticut Board,\u201d she added. \u201cI hope to leverage my professional background in business, marketing, PR and social media to drive greater awareness and participation with Make-A-Wish on a local level in Connecticut,\u201d Wilson continued. \u201cI also hope to utilize WWE\u2019s strong marketing platforms and resources locally as well.\u201d To learn more about Make-A-Wish Connecticut and to learn how you can help make wishes come true, visit CT.WISH.ORG.
