AARP Drivers Safety Program — Saturday, July 11, 10-2 p.m. At the one day / 4 hour safety program AARP offers a refresher class for motorists. Trained instructors help you learn how to avoid driving hazards. No tests. Possible insurance discount. Cost $15 members; $20 non-members. Members bring your card. Details online. Author visit — Nigeria Revisited by Peace Corp Volunteer Catherine Onyemelukwe. Monday, July 13, 6:30-7:30 p.m. Join us for Catherine’s fascinating 1962 Peace Corp memoir on adapting to cultures and embracing differences. Experiences brim with friendships and love, as she meets her Nigerian husband-to-be. Co-sponsored by Moms of Trumbull Book Club and the Trumbull Library. Free. Register.

July book discussion — Grade 6 and up. Shadow on the Mountain, Part 1, by Margi Preus. Wednesday, July 15, 5-5:45 p.m. Is required summer reading a drag? Make it fun this year by reading and discussing books with friends and classmates. First is Shadow, half today, and half on July 22. A related activity is included. First 10 to register will get a free copy. Register.

Glass painting for middle and high school — Thursday, July 16, 4-5 p.m. Create a uniquely decorated drinking glass or vase using glass paint and paint markers. Use a pattern, or your imagination for the design. Materials supplied. Register; max 20.

Music Mandy drop in — Friday, July 10, 10-11 a.m. Trumbull resident and music educator will entertain the masses in the main area of the Children’s room.

Summer Toddler Time — Tuesday, July 14, 10-10:45 a.m. Toddlers 2-3 years old will explore learning stations, educational themes and great stories in our new story time format. Drop in. Child or caregiver Trumbull resident.

Preschool University-Summertime — Wednesday, July 15, 10-10:45 a.m. Preschoolers 4-5 years old will practice the skills needed for kindergarten all while having fun with this new storytime format. Drop in. Child or caregiver Trumbull resident.
