First Selectman Timothy M. Herbst, proclaimed Sept. 17-23, Constitution Week. He noted that this year marks the 226 anniversary of the drafting of the Constitution. Herbst asks our citizens to reaffirm the ideals of the Framers of the constitution had in 1787 by vigilantly protecting the freedoms guaranteed to us through this guardian of our liberties, remembering that lost rights may never be regained.
Trumbull resident and Sarah Riggs Humphreys-Mary Silliman Chapter (SRH-MS) Regent Christy Hendrie thanked the First Selectman and noted that many Trumbull residents participated in the American Revolution and helped make the Constitution a reality. Hendrie noted that the DAR wishes to encourage every generation of Americans to celebrate the spirit of the men and women who achieved our nation’s independence.
