Support a local nonprofit on Giving Day
Fairfield County’s Giving Day is just days away. Giving Day is the region’s biggest philanthropic event that allows the community to come together and make a difference. More than 400 nonprofits are participating to raise much-needed funds and to increase awareness about the work they do throughout the region.
Giving Day begins March 10 at midnight. Individuals may go to FCGives.org and make a donation of $10 or more to the nonprofit or cause of their choice.
What's more, your gift — whatever the size — will help nonprofits compete for more than 20 cash prizes ranging from $1,000 to $20,000. These additional awards are funded by lead sponsor Bank of America, and other champion sponsors such as Whole Foods Markets and Wiggin and Dana. Everyone is encouraged to visit FCGives.org again and again to help their favorite nonprofit win.
Fairfield County’s Community Foundation is Giving Day’s driving force for the third year in a row. Last year, $1,066,091 was raised in just 24-hours for 386 local nonprofits, donated by 13,161 individuals.
“Fairfield County’s Community Foundation is honored and grateful to partner with community members, nonprofit organizations and businesses that are philanthropic, socially conscience champions,” said Juanita James, CEO and president, Fairfield County’s Community Foundation. “With these partners and our community of generous donors, we are set to make a HUGE impact on March 10 for the people and places served by our important nonprofit sector. Remember, together we thrive!”
Starting at midnight on March 10, go to FCGives.org and “Get up and Give!”
