It didn't take long for the vacant building located at 900 White Plains Road — the former home of First Aid Immediate Care Medical Center — to find a new tenant.

And luckily for Trumbull residents, urgent care will remain the primary function of the Trumbull Center facility.

Two weeks after the First Aid closed its doors, St. Vincent’s Medical Center has announced it will reopening the business as St. Vincent’s Trumbull Center Urgent Care Clinic Monday, June 6.

“We already have primary care doctors in Trumbull so we’re excited to have the ability and opportunity open an urgent care clinic in town,” said Dianne Auger, chief strategy officer at St. Vincent's Medical Center.“It’s good news for us and it’s good news for Trumbull.”

The clinic will be open seven days a week and no appointments are needed.

The hours will be Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

Auger said she recognized that with the closing of First Aid there was a hole in medical services in Trumbull and that St. Vincent’s had a desire to open up an urgent care facility that could be conveniently accessible to residents.

“We want to be available to those in the community; we don’t want to have people coming all the way to the hospital for their urgent medical needs,” Auger explained.

“The move made sense to us for multiple reasons — the site was previously a medical center and the town needed a new medical care provider,” she added. “It couldn’t have worked out better.”

Patients may walk in or, if they prefer, book an appointment online at www.planMYcare.com.

“With the availability for online schedule, we’ve added another degree of convenience for residents to schedule their own appointments,” Auger said. “It’s really for people who are at work and need to see a physician but can’t make it in immediately.

“Now they can come in when they have the time and know they have an appointment and that they will be seen right away,” she added. “I think giving people the ability to make their own appointments is a great feature that will provide even better service.”

A grand opening will take place on from 5:30- 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 16.

Visitors to the new facility’s grand opening will get a free small cone or cup of ice cream from Sunny Daes.

“When we heard that the office was closing in Trumbull we knew that there was an immediate need for convenient and accessible urgent care,” Auger said.

“We couldn’t be more excited to be the ones who are able to provide that service to the great people of Trumbull.”
