Carol King Platt will present Spring Floral Designs For Your Home, when the Long Hill Garden Club meets at the Trumbull Library on Monday, April 22. The meeting begins at 11:30 a.m., and the speaker starts at 12:45 p.m. There is a $10 guest fee.

Learn easy arranging methods to beautify your home with fresh flowers using materials gathered from your garden and nature at large. Platt will talk about trends, “must have” containers, and conditioning flowers and foliage.

Platt is a former contributing editor at House & Garden and for 23 years wrote a weekly garden column for The New London Day. Her work has appeared in The New York Times, Traditional Home and many local publications. She was voted one of People, Places and Plants’ top 10 New England garden writers. She lectures regularly about garden design and flower arranging and designs gardens throughout Connecticut, New York and Rhode Island.
