The organizers of The Sandy Hook 5K announce the second annual race to honor the memories of the victims and support those affected by the tragic events of December 14, 2012 in Newtown/Sandy Hook. The race will take place Saturday, March 29, at 8:15 a.m., on the campus of Fairfield Hills in Newtown. Nearly 1,200 adults and 125 children will participate in the race in Newtown and more than 100 others will participate virtually in their own communities.

The Sandy Hook Run for the Families held on March 23, 2013, hosted by the Hartford Marathon Foundation, raised more than $438,000 for the Sandy Hook School Support Fund.
