The Reverend Mark Horton is the newest member of the Trumbull Rotary. Horton comes to the local Rotary with nearly a quarter century of Rotary experience behind him having first joined the community service organization in 1988 in Danbury.

He says he transferred his membership to the Trumbull club from Brookfield largely due to the urging of his wife, Sue Horton, town librarian, long time member of the Trumbull Club, a past Rotary president in Danbury and an active participant in the District organization.

With a Doctorate in Ministry from Boston University, Horton teaches philosophy and humanities at Western Connecticut State University, Danbury, and is pastor of the United Church of Christ in Bridgeport.

Why so active in Rotary? He says both he and his wife live the club’s motto of “serve above self,” that is part of their personal values and when it comes to giving back to the community “that’s how we live.”
