Long Hill Garden Club's recent Random Acts of Kindness
The Long Hill Garden Club’s recent Random Acts of Kindness project was based on a global initiative with the goal of making strangers happy with flowers. Twenty three garden club members participated with Cathy Ritch teaching how to make a European bouquet. Twenty nine large bouquets and four small “tussy mussies”, or posies, wrapped in cellophane, tied with colorful ribbons were made and delivered. Each had a tag which read “A small bouquet to brighten your day! Compliments of the Long Hill Garden Club. Bouquets were distributed to many communities including Trumbull, Bridgeport, Monroe, and Shelton. Recipients were found at the police station, firehouses, Maefair Nursing Home, Stern Village, Mercy Learning Center, outside the Bow Tie movie theater, at a bus stop, and near libraries to name a few. Kathy Feller chaired this outstanding event.
