Local officials joined St. Joseph’s Center staff to honor center veterans
St. Joseph’s Center, a 297-bed Genesis HealthCare skilled nursing center, located at 6448 Main Street, held a wall dedication ceremony earlier this month to honor all the military veterans currently being cared for at the center and staff members who have served in the military.
The Veterans Wall is located in the lobby and features a plaque with the names of the veterans who are being cared for at the center, and an American flag.
Jim Denicola, veteran liaison with Vitas Hospice, assisted in the coordination of the day’s celebration, and Cecilia Burns, music therapist with Vitas Hospice, performed the National Anthem and God Bless America. The dedication ceremony was followed by a small celebration with light refreshments where the veterans celebrated with family, friends and staff members.
“We are so proud and appreciative of the tremendous dedication and spirit of our veterans here at St. Joseph’s Center,” shared Administrator Marian Gaudioso. “Creating an Honor Wall is our way of thanking the veterans for the impressive gift they have given to all Americans.”
