On Saturday, May 17 (Armed Forces Day) CT Fallen Heroes Foundation will hold a ceremony honoring Trumbull soldier PV2 Cheyenne M. Seymour  at 1:30 p.m., at Twin Books Park, (between the children’s playground and the Vietnam Veterans Bridge).

Cheyenne Seymour, 18, was a town resident and Trumbull High School alum. She died in a car accident in 2005 in Tennessee.

Her death led Trumbull resident Mike Mastroni to start the Connecticut Fallen Heroes Foundation, which honors military service members from Connecticut and their families at an annual event.

Seymour was a supply clerk of the 102nd Quartermaster Petroleum Supply Company stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. She was one of four Trumbull High graduates mentioned during 2004 commencement ceremonies for joining the armed services.

A plaque will be on display where a pink dogwood tree will be planted in her honor.

Open to the public. It will be held rain or shine and refreshments will be served after a short ceremony unveiling the plaque below the tree.
