The constitution, the framework for our government, protects the important freedoms that we Americans are fortunate to enjoy and often take for granted. And so begins our journey, as Hillcrest Middle School presents We the People, the Musical, (Book by Pat Cook, Music and Lyrics by Bill Francoeur), on Friday, April 4 at 7 p.m., at Hillcrest Middle School, 530 Daniels Farm Road. A play inspired by our founding fathers, historical anthems and all that makes this country the land of “milk and honey.”

This musical revue begins in a small town where the mayor has appointed a committee to create a show that will boost patriotism in the coming Fourth of July celebration. He appoints six very different members of the community to complete this undertaking.

Hillcrest Middle School students and teachers all play a role in this patchwork quilt of American life. They have been practicing since the school year began and are looking forward to sharing their patriotism with our community.
