Girl Scout cookies make it onto dessert menu at Trumbull restaurant
Need to get a Girl Scout cookie fix?
Trumbull’s Parallel Post restaurant, located in the Trumbull Marriott, is working with the Girl Scouts of Connecticut to create a limited-time-only dessert menu that showcases the iconic cookies. The dessert options are prepared with Samoas, Thin Mints, Do-Si-Dos and Trefoils and are priced at $5.
To commemorate the kick off of the 2015 Girl Scout Cookie season, Parallel Post’s Executive Chef Chris Molyneux and Pastry Chef Madelyn Rendon teamed up to conceptualize and perfect recipes to accentuate the sugar, chocolate, caramel, coconut and mint flavorings of select Girl Scout Cookies, according to the restaurant.
“We are delighted that Parallel Post has conceptualized our cookies in such an original way,” said Mary Barneby, CEO, Girl Scouts of Connecticut. “We are especially honored for their support in purchasing these cookies from our girls as they continue with this special dessert menu through February. Those dining at Parallel Post will not only get a sweet treat, but will learn more about what the Cookie Program gives girls - the skills she needs to thrive, succeed, and become a young entrepreneur!”
The special menu will include the raspberry swirl cheesecake made with Trefoils, a trifle made with Samoas, and Banana Cream Pie made with Do-Si-Dos. A fourth option for those seeking a lighter treat can cool off with the ice cream sundae made with Thin Mints.
This limited engagement menu will be available through Saturday, Feb. 28. However, Girl Scouts of Connecticut's cookie season won’t officially end until the end of March. Don’t forget to support your local troop.
