Colleen Plimpton will be the featured speaker when the Long Hill Garden Club meets on Monday, Sept. 23, at the Trumbull Library. The meeting begins at 11:30 a.m., and the program will start at 12:45 p.m.

Plimpton, a professional garden communicator, will present an informative program “All-Season Color in the Garden.” This PowerPoint presentation showcases color from March to November, with emphasis on easy-going, critter-resistant perennials and she includes the formula for her never-fail, homemade deer repellent.

Trained at the NY Botanical Garden, she has appeared on numerous TV and radio programs including CBS, ABC, Good Morning America and PBS. She pens a prize winning newspaper column, coaches and lectures widely, and has taught at the NY Botanical Garden. Plimpton’s multi-honored garden memoir, Mentors in the Garden of Life, was a finalist for 2011 CT Book of the year.
